The organizations grouped in the Piquetera Unit called for a “federal march” to demand “work and wages” and “against hunger and poverty” that will take place between the next 10, 11 and 12 of this month.
The protest of the Trotskyist piquetero organizations cross in those three days different provinces of the country, with marches that will begin in Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego) and others that will depart from Quiaca (Jujuy) to converge in an act that will take place in Plaza de Mayo.
As reported by these organizations that adhere to leftist political parties, the days of the “federal march” will be held under the slogans “for work and decent wages” and “against hunger and poverty.”
This was reported in a joint press release, with the signatures of the Polo Obrero (PO), MTR Votamos Luchar, Cuba-MTR, Revolutionary Action Movement (MAR), May 29 Movement, the National Piquetero Bloc, the Arming Group Awareness, Teresa Rodríguez Movement April 12, fractions of the Rebel MTL and the Resistance Front and the William Cooke Center.
Also taking part in the protests will be the Coordinator for Social Change, the Front of Organizations in Struggle, the People’s Movement, some fractions of the Popular Front Daro Santillan, the Plurinational Current, the Movement for Latin American Unity and Social Change, and the April 8 Movement, among others.
“This Piquetero Unit has established a new date for the fight plan that continues strongly throughout the country: a great federal march,” they said in the joint statement and announced that their leaders will leave the extreme north in Jujuy -from La Quiaca-, passing through Salta, Tucumán, Santiago Del Estero. Adding Catamarca and La Rioja, towards Buenos Aires.
In addition, Marches will begin from Misiones, Chaco, Corrientes, Córdoba and Cuyo and also, in Patagonia, from Tierra del Fuego passing through Santa Cruz, Chubut, Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa and Buenos Aires.
The Federal March of the Piquetero Unit will also contemplate the holding of assemblies and acts with other sectors of the “neighborhood residents and the working people in each point of the country.
“We propose the deliberation of the workers at the base, to overcome the union bureaucracy, with assemblies, plenary sessions of delegates and workshops on the road to building a unified plan of struggle for the employed and unemployed,” they indicated from Unidad Piquetera.
Among the demands are the granting of “genuine” jobs without job insecurity; for a salary equivalent to the family basket and for an emergency increase so that no worker or retiree is below the poverty basket. ”
Also, they claim “an immediate increase in social programs and their opening for all who need, and its universalization; comprehensive assistance to soup kitchens and access to decent housing, health and quality public education”.
